Lovely sandy beach, close to hotels. Nice and clean, with clear shallow sea water, safely guarded by lifeguards who reassuringly & properly enforce appropriate behaviours and safe use of the sea. Hence friendly, peaceful ambience.
Parasols and sunbeds available at reasonable cost. Really enjoyed swimming at this beach.

Nice beach, with sunbeds and sunbeds. Costed 18 euros for two sunbeds and umbrella. Had it all day and when we went for lunch, we just left the towels to show others that they were busy, we also got the ticket from the owners of the sunbeds. The sea was delicious, perfect for those with children. Nice to snorkel. Short distance to shop and restaurant. Not allowed to smoke on the beach and as 95% respected.Small sellers were there to,so the few who were there, was not annoying. This was our favorite stand in Can Pastilla

At the moment this was the only beach in Can Pastilla with sunbeds and shades. The are in front of BQ Acquinena hotel (which is closed). 3 sunbeds and a shade are €18. We were on holiday for a week and really enjoyed the beach and swimming each day.

Lovely clean beach, gentle water so ideal if you do have your children or are not into waves. Lots of paddle boarders, nice places to sit and watch. Also not to many sellers along the beach and if they do they and sell and you say no thank you, they do leave you alone.

Nice smaller beach with ok prices for sun loungers and umbrellas. Availability seemed to exist! Shower and toilet close and also a fairly well-stocked supermarket and restaurants and bars

Stayed here on a 5 day break in mid October. Stayed at adult only Hotel Playa which is located on beach front with only a small road between you and the beach (which was very clean). You can easily get the No. 21 bus from the airport, bus stop is outside main arrivals just walk towards multistory car park and before you get to the road bus stop is on your right (€5 each way and takes 10 mins. Get off at Hotel El Cid, walk to shore and turn left. Buses every 15 min.).There is now a €2 per person per night tourist tax. This was included in the price we paid but you have to pay it separately (just in case you think your getting over charged).
The streets are clean and the beach is cleaned daily. Sunbeds for hire and sun parasols for hire at €5.35 each (odd amount)
There is a wide esplanade from Can Pastilla to Arenal. There is a small tourist train/bus runs the entire esplanade to Arenal (€4.50). You can also hire bicycles very cheaply around €6 per day. There is a cycle track along the coast all the way to Palma. There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the esplanade area. Plenty of healthy things to do like jogging on esplanade in morning just before sunrise seems very popular, paddle boarding, wind surfing and for those not as energetic you can hire electric scooters or assisted bicycles.
Palma is easy to get to and worth visiting especially the cathedral and Old Town. Walk or cycle the cycle route or get the local bus for €1.50 each way. Get the number 15 bus or the express number 25 (same price less stops and goes to cathedral). Again buses every 15 mins or so.
I had reservations about the hotel location due to the proximity of the airport. Yes you can hear planes take of and land but it honestly wasn't a problem you get used to it quickly and it didn't spoil our stay.
In all a good location I would recommend.

I lived in Can Pastilla for three years. I can highly recommend this gorgeous little bay and this fabulous resort. Ideally situation close to the airport and close enough to Palma and Arenal. Can Pastilla itself is a little gem. The bay is lovely, clean, pretty and not too overcrowded. The other beach and the long stretch up to Arenal is also a great location with a fabulous beach. You can walk into Arenal if you fancy a nice stroll, or stay in Can Pastilla. There is lots of bars and restaurants, ranging from cheap to very nice and not too Pricey. Mels bar on the bay is fabulous. They have been there for years and the service and friendliness is second to none. There is a good mixture of people, not all English, not all German. Its something really special.
You can get buses into Palma which is well worth a visit with its little cobbled streets and exquisite shops. The carriage ride is a great way to see the stunning history and culture of Palma.
Mallorca is one of the best islands with so much to see and do. Can Pastilla is in my opinion underrated.. Go and see for yourself. People come back here year after year.

We are here now for 2 weeks, and after 6 days we were robbed of all our money in Palma, there are Bulgarian and Romanians teams robbing people. Keep your valuables close to you and only take out the money you need for the day.
Can Pastilla beach runs all the way to Arenal going through Playa de Palma and is about 2 or 3 miles long, a great walk and is a lovely beach.

A lovely area.
Number 21 Bus - airport to/from Cala Estancia 10 mins. 3 Euros each (inc of luggage). It's the first stop from the airport!
Number 15 Bus to/from Palma - 23 mins 1.50 Euros each.
Super sandy beach surrounded by waterfront bars and restaurants.
The promenade is clean and tidy and cycle friendly. You can bike or walk to Palma along the shore.
Some super hotels. Book on Alpharooms or Travelrepublic for best deals. We would recommend the following.
Marina Luz.
Las Areanas.
Sunprime.
or our favourite. ... Hotel Apolo.

Being so close to Palma it was easy to jump on the bus number 15 or 30 to get into the capital. The underground bus and train station offers TIB coaches that go all over the island. You can take a bus to almost anywhere. There is also a wooden train that takes you on a spectacular journey to Soller. You can spend hours discovering the many shaded back streets of Palma and of course the famous cathedral. Bike hire is readily available if you feeling fit if not it is easy to hire a car or motor bike. Majorca is so much more than beaches or hotel swimming pools.

I’m thinking of going in late August is there a few bars with nightlife
Written 24 July 2018
Can Pastilla is a quieter area so not too many clubs but of course going in August all the hotel bars are livelier and a short walk or by taking the little land train to Playa the Palma up towards Arenal you soon have some great clubs and bars. Also you are not far from Palma where clubs and bars are plenty.
If you going , have a fabulous time !

is there entertainment around the area or nightlife?
Written 13 January 2016
Hi there Ann, Along beside the Cala Estancia there are bars, restaurants and loads of shops etc for buying gifts but whilst walking along we found a German bar which was playing Live music and that was during the day but too be honest not much happens at night as Can Pastilla is more of a quiet and chilling out place.Hope that helps you out.

Is the pool at your hotel heated? If so, for what period and what temperature?
Written 10 January 2015
The water at Roc Leo is cool but not cold. I have not yet found any outdoor pool heated. In this sun you don't really need it heating .
