If that's your thing, it is worth it. Multilingual tours, and lots of great extant ruins. Very well preserved. The library is definitely worth the tour.

What an impressive entrance and facade to this 12th century castle. Really enjoyed our visits during the Templar Festival. As not much of the original internal building's are left, they have made some modern rooms for functions and events plus a library. Going up inside...More

Unfortunately, because of a side trip we took, we arrived just after it closed for the day so were unable to go inside. The exterior is very impressive.

The castle is at the center of Ponferrada city. It is big and well preserved monument. Inside you can find new and old design together.

The castle is in a historic part of town. I went in and wondered around. It was cool to see the stone structure. Made me think of Game of Thrones. "winter is coming" lol.
