This "castle" features an Interesting collection of personal effects from a wealthy family. Worth an hour or so to visit, many unique pieces of furnishings, architectural gem of a property, a small garden. Entry fee, easily accessible by local bus from Thun. May be difficult for mobility-challenged to enjoy.

The Schloss Hunegg is set on the hill side overlooking the Thunersee enjoying beautiful views. The grounds are well kept and landscaped with many gardens. The Schloss is connected to a series of walking trails in the area which makes it even more enjoyable.

The garden and foundtains are open to the public free of charge. There is fee parking below, however, on the day we visited it would not accept any coins, so... More

This castle is a must see sightseeing. Amazing to walk through the various rooms as if the people living there would still be present and just left, so you can admire their work. The view from each room over the lake and the Alps is stunning, the guy that built this castle really thought about many details. Should you not... More

It was built by Baron Albert Emil Otto von Parpart (1813 – 1869), from 1861 to 1863 and partly modernized around the turn of the century. The Baron was an further officer... More
