About
In the middle of the Veluwe is a unique location: the sand sculptures in Garderen! More than 200 sculptures made of sand, wood and concrete depict a specific theme. In a fairy-tale environment you will walk past the sculptures, provided with beautifully landscaped gardens, music and special effects. On the grounds of the Sculpture Garden are multiple catering options for both a cup of coffee and a full lunch. A wonderful outing for the whole family.

Compared to previous visits, it was now a setback. Prices are considerably increased at a much lower quality. And that in all areas.
People have become far too commercial. And if you want to, you have to make sure the execution is good. And it clearly isn't.
Many damaged images, often with mold spots, suddenly paid parking but not enough space, sound of the film is hardly audible because it is directly adjacent to the very busy restaurant, walking route less clear; so many searching people and more than an hour waiting before you have your food in the restaurant because there is only 1 person taking orders and also has to pay, hand out food and books from souvenir shop there have to pay. There is a second cash register; but they do not open it even on busy days. Quality food was also substandard after so much waiting time, employees also much less friendly than before.
A real shame. The Veluwe Sand Sculpture Festival always got high ratings from me and I was something I would have liked to visit every year. Now I doubt I'll ever go again.

Every year we visit the Veluwe Sand Sculpture Festival in Garderen. Because the theme is different every time, it remains interesting. We have given a 5 star rating every year, but this time less because it is now starting to look like an amusement park with too many permanent features that were also on display last year. The treasure hunt is not nearly as fun as it used to be, when it could only be solved indoors as a theme. The whole set of sand sculptures appears a bit confused, themes are intertwined. Too bad, we hope that this development does not continue.

Very nice! I took a photo of almost everything because the sculptures were so beautiful and all finished in great detail! Logical structure, beautiful and varied sculptures, but also nice finishing of the environment around it! Nice experience and definitely worth a visit!

Garderen was a bit of a drive for us,
but very worth it!
Even if it is only for the beautiful landscape of the Veluwe!
As a bookworm, the theme of 'books' appealed to me,
but also people who think they have little interest in books
there will be a lot to experience.
The layout of the park is not too large,
everything is walkable.
There is an inside and an outside.
I found the part about World War II impressive.
Children can also have a great time:
all kinds of fairy tales and well-known stories have been depicted.
There is a monorail for the children (pedal yourself)
and a sandbox.
You can see an amb8sman / artist at work
(in this case a Ukrainian:
he said he works 8 hours 6 days a week
was doing (with pleasure).
A medium-sized image takes about 10 days)
And there are two restaurants
where there is quite a nice choice,
not bad at all!
The wooden statues should not go unmentioned.
And the shop has more for sale than just knick-knacks.
An excellent educational outing for young and old!
but very worth it!

Very beautiful to see, but really worth it. There is a lot to see, parts are covered and some statues are outside. We were there in the summer, it was very busy then, but we were able to see everything. There are also some restaurants, nice to take a break and have something to drink or eat.

We come here every year. Very nice outing. But this year it was very disappointing. Much the same as last year. Questions in the puzzle were also the same. We have not seen this announced anywhere. If we had known this we would have skipped a year. While the entrance fee is becoming increasingly expensive.
So disappointed actually.

Very good handcrafted sculptures in different styles. Each tells its own story, completed with lights and nicely decorated. The outside sculptues had suffered from the weather, because it was already open for half a year.

We were taken to this exhibition by Dutch friends and had no idea where we were going or what we were going to see. We just could not believe the amazing sculptures all depicting either scenes from Old Dutch Masters paintings or over life size ones of the painters themselves. One of your reviewers said the entrance was not cheap. No it is not but my word it IS value for money! We were in there for over an hour and a half and I am sure, we could have gone round again and still not taken it all in. One not to be missed if you are in the area. I understand that the theme changes each year and am looking forward to returning next year to see what it is.

A fantastic park full of sculptures, some of wood and the most made from sand. A treated sand but still …from sand. Every year there is a theme for the sand sculptures. This year’s one is Dutch Masters. Just amazing! But its not only the sculptures which can enjoy them indoor and outdoor. There are playgrounds for kids, shops and restaurants and around the park, forest with paths for walking or biking. You can spend in the area from two hours to a day! Perfect for kids. Also dogs allowed in all spaces.

We went to this tourist attraction on the recommendation of the lady in the tourist office (vvv) in Putten but if you're an English speaking person its probably best avoided! Expensive to get in €8.50 and while initially we went WOW over the first few sculpture, we soon got tired of seeing samo samo especially as the person sculpted meant nothing to us. There was one part where all the Dutch folk were singing, obviously Dutch nursery rhymes and they seemed to love it, but again to us it meant nothing so we breezed through them. A few short lines in English, and perhaps other languages too, re each sculpture would turn this attraction around at no expense. Also we noticed a lot of tacky souvenirs around ,like a trio of croaking frogs- Huh!!, which did nothing for us- So while we LOVED Holland and found the folk there to be so helpful and pleasant this is one attraction that, in our opinion, is best avoided.

Hoeveel tijd heb je nodig om alles te zien.? En is er ook nog een speeltuin bij voor kleine kinderen. Bvd. Gr. An.
