I love Hollingworth Lake! It's a lovely walk on an even and flat surface. There's so many nice cafes and restaurants around the lake. Spoilt for choice. My favourite being Wine Press, and Mr Thomas fish and chips. There is also plenty of parking near by at reasonable pricing.

We parked at the Visitor Centre car park (pay and display but only £2.20 for all day parking). We went for a walk and returned to the car park by walking around the lake in its entirety. The path around the lake is well maintained and suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. There is a café and toilets about half way... More

We took our little grandson to feed the ducks, they didn't get a look in thanks to the greedy seagulls!! I'd not been to Hollingworth Lake since I was a child and it seemed really different. It's a lovely area but when we went it was just too cold. Go in the Spring or Summer :)

We go here regular to have a walk round the lake and lunch at the chippy. Lovely place for fish and chips. Or even a pub where meals and drinks can be had. Lovely couple of hours out

Stunning if you get clear skies and glorious sun even if it's freezing. Some great places for fish and chips which is a must after a long loop around the lake.

Great walk around lake for all people, nice and flat so accessible for everyone. Cheap parking in the carpark too so never struggle for parking. There's also an arcade, chip shop, restraunt and ice cream shop near by and a pub nearer the car park. There's also a cafe about half the way round (ice creams expensive there though)

My fiancé & I stopped here for a picnic to break up a long journey. We wanted to find a scenic spot to stop, instead of using a motorway service station. The lake was easy to find and only around 10 minutes from M62 ( junction 21). The scenery here is very beautiful. There are plenty of car parks dotted... More

I am heavily disabled but wanted hubby to enjoy watersports for the first time. The person on the telephone had made it abundantly clear I would NOT be able to participate because of the risks connected with my disability. However, when we arrived, the trainer/tutor/guide etc, couldn't have been more helpful for me had I threatened him with my singing... More
