One of my favourite walks in Runcorn. In the past yeaar or so greaat vantage point for the new bridge, its been nice seeing it take shape. Pleasant walks around the park, benches, boards, bird watching. Once lucky enough to hear and then see the Mersey Bore rushing towards and past us on the river which was a pleasant suprise.Popular... We live within walking distance of wigg island and loved to go for walks with the kids, especially in the summer. The biggest problem is the amount of dog muck on the paths and surrounding areas, people are either not bothering to pick up after their animals or bagging it and throwing it in the trees/ bushes! There needs to... More

Its improved since the 90's, shame the council has stopped spending because I liked the wigwam, hopefully this will change now we have a new urban centre on the expressway.

I used to walk my dog here regularly but since the council have had their funding cut it's really gone downhill. The gates don't get locked anymore which means idiots use the car park at night and just leave rubbish all over the carpark and the visitors centre seems to have shut completely which is a huge shame. Poo bins... More

Linda Runcorn. A great place to walk spend time bird watching or exercising your dog. Looking right out over the river Mersey left is the jubilee bridge and right is the construction of the new Mersey link bridge and Fiddlers ferry power station.

It's good to walk your do but I wouldn't say it's an attraction it's one of those places once you've been once you don't need to go again and the views are ruined by the ICI and the new bridge building works.... shame!

We walk the dog here most weeks, it is a good safe place for dogs to be off the lead, safe place for families with small children to walk, cycle, skate, lots of wild life and great views.

Realy good walk for dog lovers. Great view of ongoing works to the new bridge. Swans and ducks on the canal so keep dogs on lead near there otherwise plenty of space for them to run. Pity there isn't a cafe but take a flask as there are some Benches around for a breather. Have in the past taken our... More
