We visited for the first time. Lovely garden to explore, the house is full of great memoirs of the Churchill family .

My wife, myself and my daughter visited Chartwell last month. It was a lovely day and none too crowded on the day we were there. The grounds and house are very well presented with what are clearly regularly rotated exhibitions within the latter. Being able to identify so strongly with the people who had lived here was really quite moving... More

We have been visiting Chartwell for more years than I can remember and its charm never fades. My daughter and I took a picnic and spent a relaxing Sunday afternoon wandering in the beautiful grounds and touring the house. By virtue of its own popularity, it can get very busy and if you wish to enjoy the house at it's... More

Visited today with our four year old grandson - we completed both trails - there's a short and long trail with lots of things to identify along with an activity sheet - the National Trust only ask for a donation of one pound - we spent the whole day there 😊we have one happy and worn out little boy

I have to say the NT has done a great job here and I strongly recommend that you visit if you're in the area. The gardens are beautiful and the kitchen garden quite inspirational for food-growers! The real treat is Winston's house though. Preserved in 1930's condition and totally charming. Lastly the cafe is really very good. Good coffee. And... More

Lovely day at Chartwell, enjoyed lunch at the cafe and walking through the beautiful gardens. Visited many historic hones etc but on entering Chartwell house my son (2 yrs old) was talking to my husband (quite loudly as 2 yr olds do) when we were approached by a member of staff asking whether we have a sling for him. We... More

We arrived at 10.30am and had no trouble booking a ticket for 11 - spent the time walking round the garden. The staff were fairly helpful, so I would disagree with some of the negative reviews. I would think twice before bringing a family, given the cost of the tickets. As always in the NT, the meals are pleasant but... More

We benefited from a fantastic day of weather with brilliant sunshine, which makes enjoying the grounds that much more enjoyable. We signed up as National Trust members which means car parking is free and then entry is free too. The house is superb, left to look like the family home that it was, a beautiful mix of light bright and... More

Visited last week. We were very lucky with the weather. You get a timed ticket for the house. We had a while to wait so started to walk around the gardens. There are walled gardens with amazing displays of flowers. The vegetable garden was fantastic too. Hats off to all the people who make this such a wonderful place to... More
