Wine from local berries - mmmm

This place is a restaurant, winery and souvenir shop all in one. We just went for the wine tastings and were pleasantly surprised by the large selection. The lady behind the counter was friendly and able to answer all our questions. Overall a nice place to stop by. The biggest plus is that they can ship a case of wine... More

The tour was short but interesting and the wine tasting was delicious and fun. Staff was friendly and helpful. We came back later in the day to eat dinner in the restaurant. While the atmosphere is cafeteria like the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend stopping here.

When I think winery I think grapes - wrong! The Auk Island Winery crafts a wide variety of wines made from local berries - everything but grapes! We stopped by prior to lunch and took the tour. Our tour guide was a hoot - both funny and informative. While it is a small operation there's a lot that goes into... More

A place to go for a proper meal, but don't expect something special. Good sandwiches though, ideal for a day hicking on the superb trails of the region. Ambiance a bit cantine-like. Friendly service

This was a welcome change from the busy wineries of the Okanagan for us. We were pleasantly surprised by a few things - all the wines are berry wines, and there are a lot of them! They have over 20 different wines on the go. They were all very distinctive and we left with quite a few more than we... More

Our tour group had an informative tour of the winery and the making of berry wines. We then had a very good lunch in the restaurant followed by a tasting session. Not to my taste but I did like some of the quirky names for the wine such as - Crooked Cod - Funky Puffin and Black Crow etc.

They have a reasonable selection of food which is relatively well done. My highlight is the soft serve wine ice cream. Very smooth and delicious plus the portions are huge for one person. The staff are nice and accommodating but service can be slow. Be aware that bus tours often stop here to eat so the place can suddenly become... More

This winery offers tours and tastings at a reasonable price: $5 for both, or $3 for just the tasting. The tour only takes 10 minutes, as it is a small place. The wines are generally good tasting and interesting and have fun names. We bought a case and for $15 got it shipped home. Attached to the winery is a... More

We stopped here for lunch which was delicious and moderately priced with good service. Then we stopped for a tasting as we were curious about the wine. Turns out it is fruit-based but nevertheless is quite special and we purchased some-very reasonable priced. Good place to visit.

The restaurant experience was very poor. Service was extremely slow (especially at the checkout), and the food was cold. We couldn't get on a tour because they were waiting for a tour bus, which was late. All in all, you won't miss much if you skip this spot on a visit to Twillingate.
