The Seppeltsfield Village is based around the unique and irreplaceable Seppeltsfield fortified wine collection. All our actions aim to meet the guiding principle of "sympathetic development" in harmony with Joseph and Benno Seppelts' original ideas. This means that whatever new activities we undertake at Seppeltsfield, they should respect both tradition and environment.

I visited this winery today and although it was very nice and the staff were genuinely lovely I found I had been over charged for a bottle of Tawney that I purchased. It was $88 and I later found the same bottle in Dan Murphy's for $71.99. Not much in the difference but getting ripped off is no way to... More

Beautifully designed and maintained buildings of a past era with the cellar door in old cellars is well done. This winery has a focus on fortified wines. Its older vine shiraz is unaffordable at $150 a bottle. It is the tourist spot in the Barossa with beautiful picnic areas where you can while away rhe day.

We visited the Seppeltsfield winery in April. The gentleman who did our wine tasting was exceptional his name was Bill (I think). He was very knowledgeable about the wines and the history of the place

My friends and I love doing winery tours... Be it nz or here in Aus. Any city we go to if there is a winery tour option we do it. This Easter, 2017 we were staying at friends place in Ararat and had come down for Grampians. From there the obvious was visiting Seppelt winery and boy! What an experience... More

This may be my favourite winery in Australia. A long history has lead to some very mature drops, beautiful grounds and a magnificent trophy room full of the evidence of their accomplishments.

Did not have a good experience with the wine tasting here. You felt like you were intruding on there space the staff seemed to be focused on the groups rather than the couples. This kind of killed our enthusiasm for the tasting and we left. A complete opposite to our fantastic experience at Jacobs Creek. Seppeltsfield can learn something from... More

We received complimentary tickets to join a winery tour here as part of our accommodation package at the Lodge Country House (see other review), however I understand there is usually a moderate charge to cover staff and tastings. It was such an interesting and informative tour, taking in so much of the historic site, with a lovely tour guide who... More
