Visited here as part of a day trip from Mindarie, north of Perth. For us from the UK, it was an interesting drive up and back, as it gave a bit of experience of an area with characteristics like the outback (which we didn't have a chance to visit) with sandy soils and extensive inland dunes and occasional sightings of... First, rent a car. Its more than 200kms from Perth City. You can join any tour you like but we prefer our own tour 😁 To rent a car costs us around aud40/day and there is 4 of us. Fuel will cost you less than aud80 for return trip. The journey there will take you more than two hours drive... More

Make sure you go early. Getting photos without a million other tourists was impossible! Really cool to just walk around and have a look. I recommend this to anyone travelling to WA.

The day we visited it was only about 24 degrees and quite windy. The Pinnacles is a very interesting place and made me feel like I was on another planet or that a dinosaur would poke his head around one of the rocks. It really is a mini desert and in the height of summer it would very hot. A... More

Lived in WA for over 8 years and cannot believe we hadn't made the effort to check The Pinnacles out earlier . Truely amazing experience . We went mid morning to get a feel for the place then went back for sunset. Totally different again with shadows casting off the Pinnacles . Incredible, and right here on our doorstep. Get... More

I'm a trained geologist who's used to looking at rocks and they can quite dull. But wow the Pinnacles are wonderful. When we visited the light was superb. There's a small entrance fee, but it is well worth it for this world class site. You drive on a one way route and there are plenty of places to stop. It... More

There were 2 options - 1) you could either park near the information centre and walk for 10 minutes to the Pinnacles to take pictures or 2) drive a 4km loop and stop at designated lots along the way to take pictures. We decided to do both and it was loooooovely :-)

Thought this would be interesting and it was but was also amazing. Went at sunset which gave it an other worldly feel. Easy to access by foot or car. Covers a really large area, more than expected. Definitely a must see.
