We went to see an exhibit, Homeward Bound, a juried show of Virginia artists. Our friend Aimee Joyaux has two great pieces in the exhibit, we had to go see. Loved the silver twist tie wall hanging. Terrific museum and exhibit space for Roanoke.

If you love art & you're in Roanoke, then you must go to the Taubman! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The museum is free although we paid a very reasonable fee to see a special exhibit on American Impressionism. We also saw the museum's triennial...More

The exhibits in the museum are wonderful, the facility itself is misplaced, but worth a visit. Lovely gift shop.

I'm a local, and I love the Taubman. I can't believe it's free to visit (although sometimes certain exhibitions require a fee). The building looks like a giant metal and glass space ship that landed among the historic buildings of Roanoke's downtown. I have seen...More

We visited the Taubman specifically to see the exhibit of American Impressionist painters. Not only was that collection well displayed, but so are the other exhibits throughout the museum. It is not the biggest Art museum I have ever visited, but was certainly worth the...More

This museum, located in downtown Roanoke, hosts indoor and outdoor artworks. The building itself was quite controversial for its time. The architect artist had a vision about what he wanted to incorporate into the building that represented the area best in his mind. Even if...More
