Stopped off here on our last night in Smithfield, a beautiful setting, with woodland walks and the beach at the end of it all, lots of eagles soaring in the sky and apparently John Smith sailed from here to Richmond. Recommend a visit.

Do your homework first. Realize what that fort was and all the modifications, expansions and look at the sheer effort put into the earthworks. When that fort was used, it was very isolated and the effort made is unbelievable. Its heavily wooded now so difficult...More

not much of a beach, and the bathrooms were horrible , toilets had not been clean since gosh knows when. not really anything to do.
