Truely one of the best state parks in the country!! Not many places that you can camp in the dunes, have access to the beach and trails, and be so close to amenities and good food. Not to be missed. We have been there many times!

First Landing State Park has trails in the woods, coast line on the Chesapeake Bay, a few cabins for rent and camping. We got an early start, self paid the State Park fee and walked the dogs on a leash on the sandy shore of the bay. We proceeded to drive through the woods on the opposite side of the... More

Popular for runners and dog-walkers, the many trails in First Landing are serene and picturesque. Where else in VB can you see Spanish moss hanging from the trees and cypress stumps? It's easy to get lost - maybe you want to, but if not pick up a map at the ranger's station. Often the trails intersect. It's an easy walk.... More

Took my young granddaughter who had never been to this type of park. There are many different trails for your hiking abilities. We took a short trail and my granddaughter enjoyed it so much that we also went on a longer trail. There is a building that contains information about the park and some of the wildlife you might see.... More

My family tent camped for a long weekend at First Landing State Park in September 2016. We reserved two sites for four adults, one child, and two dogs, located near the main road. It was a week of flooding, with many of the sites closed because of water, but we went anyway and had a good time. This park is... More

Very nice way to end the trip. Very educational. Loved seeing the lighthouses and the overlook. If you have time-definitely worth the trip.

This a wonderful short excursion from all the crowds at VA Beach. When you enter the park you feel you are a million miles away from all the noisy and traffic but in realty you can be back at the beach in 20 minutes. There a great little visitors center complete with interactive exhibits that kids and adults can enjoy.... More

Great campsites just over the dunes from the Chesapeake Bay. Easy walking trails on the marsh. Educational building had much to offer on local marine life and history.

We're local to the area and just love the bike trails. Many miles of great trails through the pine forest. Most trails are very well maintained.

Whether you know it as First Landing or Seashore state park this is a great place to visit. My wife and I visit many times a year for the hiking trails. This is a pet friendly location that allows you to walk in the forest and swamps. Well maintained and safe. If you are looking for a place to complete... More
