There is a fantastic display of World I and II fighter planes with an original WW II German hangar to tour, a repair and restoration facility on site, and other Allied and Axis tools of war which are proudly displayed at this museum. The guides are friendly and helpful and will search to the ends to answer any questions you... More

Interesting to see all the restored planes as well as see the rural area of Virginia Beach. Particularly intriguing when the planes are flying accompanied by the Virginia Symphony.

Really was impressed with the displays they had. Tour guides were wonderful. We had small children and were worried they would get bored. Nope it was so interesting and they kept you moving. Allow yourself plenty of time to see all the buildings and exhibits. If it wasn't raining we could have taken in the dinosaur display outside but enjoyed... More

Only 20-25 minutes from the Virginia Beach boardwalk, this museum is near the location of an old military airfield (now gone) in Pungo. They have a *huge* collection of WW1 and WW2 aircraft - - and most of them in flying condition! We arrived on a Wednesday morning, and were treated to a tour of hangars crammed with planes, with... Thanks, "skyJim"! I used to fly to Frederick almost every Saturday morning for those "$100 breakfasts" at the airport restaurant. A lovely town and a great place to put on the occasional airshow. So glad you enjoyed your visit here, and please do come back as you mentioned for "Warbirds Over the Beach" to see our "girls" flying May 19-21!!... More

This collection of aviation assets is impressive. You get a chance to see a wide range of planes and the ability to get up close and personal with many of them. Honestly, the thing that really makes this place so much more enjoyable is the staff. These folks really know exhibits and are in many instances able to give some... More

Best place to view the planes that fought the first and second world wars. Where else can you see a B-17, a Spitfire, a Corsair, a P40, a P39, a P51 and a Messerschmidt in one visit.

So glad you enjoyed your visit! Just in the interest of accuracy, our B-17 went to another collection several years ago, but there are more planes on the way here in 2017! Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm! More

Where to begin? I am a WWII enthusiast and this museum has to be at the top of my list of must see's. The museum grounds were impeccably maintained. There are no words to describe the joy I felt being able to see the vast amount of different aircraft that are maintained here. Probably the single most significant factor of... More

We had been here several years ago shortly after it first opened and we were really impressed then. Today's visit was even better. The tour through the German and WWI hangers is worth the hour invested. Its a great way to spend an afternoon.

I'm an aviation enthusiast, I've been to aviation attractions around the world, this museum is world class! It's the first one I've seen where all of the exhibits are flyable. The aircraft are in amazing condition. Weather you kind of like airplanes, or are an airplane geek you will be impressed. The volunteers are all knowledgeable and friendly. If your... More

Amazing place. Working aircraft that represent the history of aviation from the first Wright Brothers flight through World War 2. Very knowledgeable docents to explain the history of each aircraft.
