This three-mile concrete promenade is always busy with bicyclists, strollers, diners and people-watchers. During the summer, three oceanfront stages offer nightly entertainment.

Road a bike and walked on the Boardwalk. We saw homeless people sleeping on the benches at night, and begging during the day. Even saw the Virginia Beach Police make an arrest.

Separate lanes for bike riders and pedestrians make this a great place for cycling or walking. The fresh ocean air and nice breezes will allow for a comfortable ride for all ages. The access to the beach is great and the showers on the boardwalk...More

Conjested, lots of beach but also lots of restrictions that just don't fit into a relaxed family atmosphere. Not my kinda beach. Too much tourist gadgetry shops not enough atmosphere just to relax!!

Rent a bike and ride the boardwalk, stop for lunch, go shopping. It's a great place! Go down to the beach, swim or relax. It's beautiful!

The boardwalk is wide and clean. There are feet washing stations every couple of streets. No public bathrooms...only ports potties.

Lots to do on the boardwalk! Plenty of dolphin watching and actually saw a whale one morning. Easy access to the water. Sand is groomed every morning. Beautiful sunrises.

The boardwalk is a nice place for a walk. Lots of people walking and biking . Parking can be an issue if you are not staying in a beach front hotel.. There are areas with entertainment and some benches. Several restaraunts also. We enjoyed Waterman's.

The beach was surprisingly clean. The rentals for the beach chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas were a bit expensive. If you can, bring your own to avoid costly rentals.
