All along the promenade, Virginia Beach has placed numerous art works and memorials. This park is dominated by a huge sculpture of Neptune, placed by city fathers to congratulate themselves on their civic pride. It's good - but don't miss the nearby Museum of Lifesaving Station

Certainly worth the walk down the boardwalk. This amazing piece of detailed art is the crowing jewel of Virginia Beach. Neptune's serious visage is half gentle reminder that the sea is fragile and must be treated with respect, and half threatening warning that he is also it's protector. Truly majestic.

Lovely donation to the city of Virginia Beach. Standing next to it almost makes you feel like you're in Lake Albano.

We loved sitting on the patio at catch 31 and looking out at the huge tree. It was beautiful to see with the ocean and full moon as a backdrop.

Neptune Park has the prettiest tree for the holidays. It was so enjoyable to sit their and look at the tree by the fire pits.

The statue is always there to look at. Additionally, there is a lot going on at the park throughout the summer but you have to check the FB page or website to see exactly whats happening on which day. Still in all, its at the beach. Win/win.

If you're staying at the beach, make sure you see the King Neptune Statue, on the boardwalk and 31st street. It's interesting to see it both in the day and at night. It's quite large and no matter how many times you visit, you'll always notice something that you hadn't seen on it before. Plus it's on the ocean, so... More

We could see Neptune's statue way off in the distance from our oceanfront hotel balcony, so we had to go down the boardwalk to get a closer look.....and lots of pictures, too! The statue is very well done with various sea life creatures carved around the base. Neptune will always be a Virginia Beach memory!

The statue of Neptune is very impressive. The park didn't have anything going on when we visited, but I imagine its very nice in the summer months.

It is a wonderful park along the beach. I really love the statue of Neptune. I can also see the beach and the ocean. I took several pictures of Neptune.
