We've visited this park twice now as a fun stop while traveling between D.C. And Williamsburg or VA Beach. It's an easy half mile walk to the fossil beach, where fossils are plentiful. You can only collect one per person. But it's a fun excursion...More

This park has lots of trails for all activity levels. Plenty of scenic trails. Placards give info along the way. Trails are well marked. Grab a map at the entrance gate so you can choose a trail that fits your fitness level or time frame....More

walking and seeing the sights and sounds of nature and how beautiful it is! Different types of birds and flowers !!! Very relaxing and no noise unless you bring your cellphone!!!Somtimes you have to turn the phone off and enjoy LIfe!!!

If you can, walk down to Fossil Beach. It's along the York Rivers. Not only is it scenic, but actually has fossils.

There's only a parking fee that you pay before entering the park. A Ranger isn't always present at the entrance and an honor system is in place.
