Lots of shops to go thru. Liked the Christmas store and General Store. Staff was very friendly. Its near college so plenty of coffee shops and husle and busle of polite college kids. As well as families. We spent about two hours there. We ate at Dog street Pub. It was okay not the best food I've had.

The square is located between William and Mary College and Colonial Williamsburg. You'll find lots of shops...some quite pricy...and places to dine or snack. It's a great place to walk and browse, enjoy the nice weather. There's also a trolley you can catch if needed.

Doesn't every popular tourist attraction have a shopping area? This is the one that is located adjacent to the historical district. Nearly 3 dozen shops and restaurants to choose from in this unique village-type setting. Some shops have very unique merchandise, where others can be found in most metropolitan shopping malls. Many merchants offer coupon savings!

Have been to many towns and cities with historic architecture and quaint shopping districts. This is one of better ones but not worth a special trip. Regular potpourri of gift shops, art galleries, pubs and restaurants.

My husband and I walked around Merchants Square a few times during our visit to Williamsburg. Plenty of shops and restaurants around this Square - enjoyable to have lunch in restaurant and watch the people go by. On one end is William and Mary College - nice to walk around and see all the old buildings. When you walk the... More

Merchants Square is the commercial center of Colonial Wiliamsburg, nestled between the College of William and Mary and the historic buildings along the one-mile Duke Of Gloucester ("DOG") street. But the Square is more than just the shops and restaurants in the one-block area on DOG street --- Merchants Square also includes shops and restaurants on nearby Prince George Street... More
