We did both the National Historical Park (Federal) and the newer Virginia State Jamestowne site. We did the state (Jamestowne Settlement) first and that was a good decision. A hurricane did this place a favor. They had to rebuild the museum portion of the Settlement and reconstruct just about everything a few years ago. The place is great. A real gem. Visitors should not confuse it with the close-by national park.

We enjoyed Jamestown but were disappointed that not all the ships were there when we visited, yet no discount on the admission! Cafe is pricey for what you get.

Jamestown Settlement was much more interactive for the family. If you are already here, then take in the whole experience and enjoy all that is here.
