You can spend a day or an hour here with friends and family. They have a picnic area with grills for cooking. There are hiking trails, a zip line, a butterfly garden, bike trails and a small but interesting colonial museum.

Celebrating one of the earliest free black settlements, and rejoicing that SOMEONE tried to set slavery right, even though it was after his death, was wonderful. His wise stipulations of land, houses, and education for the freed slaves is exciting. We enjoyed seeing this unknown-to-us...More

The only complaint about freedom park is the bathrooms being so far away from the playground. The hiking trails and botanical gardens are a great addition,

How lucky are we to have a botanical garden in the neighborhood? I take my girls here all the time in the summer. They practically beg to go see the pretty flowers and butterfly garden. Lots of great photo opportunities and a perfect place to...More

Stopped by the Freedom Park to see the Botanical Gardens and discovered there was more to the park. It is surely and asset to the city to have all the trails and the open areas to have events in. We enjoyed the gardens and viewing...More

We stop by to see the Botanical Garden. Interest but small. Early spring flowers. The park is large and a nice drive around. Interesting bike and hiking paths. Slip lines Available.

You need your own bikes. There are places to rent, just not at Freedom Park.
