This is on the pedestrian mall and worth the visit. The guide is very knowledgeable. Not a lot to see but it has interesting artifacts on the second level including Civil War prisoner graffiti. Won't take much time to pop in and it adds to the Winchester experience.

I grew up visiting Civil War battlefields so we had to visit this museum. I enjoyed the history of Winchester and the part it played during the war.

Stopped in for a quick visit. The man in the gift shop was most informative, but the items on the second floor are all artifacts in glass cases, with the exception of the bell you can ring. Interesting, especially the Civil War graffiti, but won't take long to go through this one for most people. Entrance fee is reasonable.

A very cool, if small museum, packed with artifacts. Maybe coolest of all is the old Civil War Era graffiti from when it housed prisoners of war. Also, you get to ring the big 900 lb bell in the bell tower. How cool is that?

With artifacts found on area farms and battlefields, and inscriptions left by POWs on the courthouse walls, this Civil War museum teaches about the military activities in the area. Fascinating, and well worth a visit.

The old court house has one of the most extensive civil war relic collections I've ever seen. Admission is reasonable, gift shop is too! Great place to visit if your a civil war buff or just interested in history.

Completely enjoyed this museum. Very good short tour from a staff member. Old Courthouse on ground level and civil war artifacts museum on 2nd level. Nice extra - you can ring the courthouse bell in the steeple. Well done.

Interesting exhibits relating to the Civil War, but presented in old style cases with (sometimes) faded typed labels. Worth a visit for the Civil War enthusiast.

Courthouse from 1840 that was renovated recently. Front yard used to hold soldier prisoners during the Civil War. Would recommend if you have time while in Winchester.

Great historical building. 2nd floor filled with a lot of Civil War info and artifacts. 1st floor courtroom nicely preserved. Even got to ring the bell.
