Beautiful old home - the oldest in Winchester. The wood floors were so amazing, and the woodwork was beautiful. THe little log cabin was cute and cozy and loved the Peanut soup and wassail! Missed it last year on the Candlelight tour so it was our first destination this year! Beautifully decorated for the holidays, the docents were knowledgeable and... More

This is the first attraction we visited upon our arrival in Winchester. For a mere $5 per person, we got a personal and in depth tour of his great and well preserved old house. Our guide was very knowledgable, enthusiastic, and patiently answered all of our questions. If you do only one tour in Winchester, make it this house, which... More

Years ago I lived in Winchester and remember touring this in high school, along with other historical sites. Celebrating my girlfriend's birthday, I suggested this wonderful town for a day trip as we both love history. Starting out at the visitors center, Natasha was very helpful and the short film was very well done, highlighting Winchester's many accolades. The small... More

Had a great personal tour of the house and cabin. Great piece of history. Cooling bench was a surprise. Learned a lot about the local history. Took about an hour but well worth it!!

This is such a neat old structure. I loved the yard and garden too. Shares same parking lot as Visitors Center which makes it so convenient.

We did not go into the building but enjoyed walking the grounds with a grove of very old walnut trees. The pond next to the stone structure is enjoyed by a wide variety of towns people. Log cabin is interesting history too. Next to the visitors center

Visited this property as part of a package deal along with the Stonewall Jackson house and George Washington house. Out of the three, this was definitely the least interesting of the bunch. Aside from being the oldest property in town, the house itself did not contain any fascinating architecture or furniture. The tour guide also answered a lot of our... More

The guide shared with us a wonderful story of the family who lived in the house and adjacent property from the original settlement of Winchester to the early 20th Century, illustrating it with the details of the architecture and artifacts. I learned that the history of the Hollingsworth family is to a great degree the history of Winchester and the... More

If you enjoy historic houses, this is a must-see. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and the house was lovely. I also enjoyed the log cabin across the lawn.

Like so many reviewers, this home belonged to long distant ancestors. We had family in town, so we drove out to Winchester for the day. Our guide closed up the gift shop and took us on an excellent tour of the home. She knew the subject area well, and was able to answer questions we had about the area and... More
