Made a reservation to sail with Captain Ward on Saturday Oct 8th for a sunset trip. He proactively reached out via e mail and informed me of severe weather coming in that would make that less than enjoyable. He suggested alternatives and we settled on Sunday the 9th at 3. Great weather and a fabulous time. Ward allows his passengers... More

My husband, two-year-old son, and I went out with Captain Ward for a morning of sailing. It was such a fun and educational experience! My husband and I are novice sailors, so Ward was kind enough to teach us a bit more and let us try our hand. Ward was also incredibly knowledgeable about the islands and wildlife. We saw... More

We had a perfect evening sail with Ward. He is friendly, competent & informative. And he let me take the tiller for the evening (with guidance, of course). Lovely experience!

We had a lovely full moon sail this last weekend. Our schedule was tight and Captain Ward accommodated us very nicely. The boat is in great condition and has nice cushions so you are nice and comfy. He made sure we saw some animal life and it was a lovey experience. Very mellow and beautiful. I think this is a... More

Our sailing experience with Capt. Ward was nothing short of wonderful! The weather was perfect, as was the whole sail. He let us sail the boat and experience the real feel of the morning breezes and waters. Capt. was knowledgeable, enjoyable, and gracious. HIGHLY recommend this 3 hour experience of heaven on earth!! Would definitely repeat this trip!

It was a wonderful opportunity to spend really quality time with my grown daughters and a fiance. We were able to sail the boat as if it was ours. If we get back to Orcas we'll do it again.

Our three-hour 4:30 pm sailing trip included our 2.5 year old son, which could have easily been a disaster. Much to our delight, it was laid-back, beautiful, calming and informative. Captain Ward was patient, kind and thoughtful. Our son remembers seeing seals (yes!), porpoises (yes!) Orcas (nope.) and grandpa (referring to Ward). A child-size life jacket was provided and fit... Iris is a well-maintained classic wooden sailboat. Captain Chris is a genial and knowledgeable host who made us feel right at home. Since my wife and I were the only two guests he let us do most of the sailing( we have sailboat on the east coast). It was a delightful evening and great to see Friday Harbor in such... More

I think you meant that nice review to go to San Juan Island Classic Daysailing. We are easily confused since they chose a similar name to my business. Captain Ward, Northwest Classic Daysailing Sloop 'Aura' More

My wife and I were the only ones on the boat with the captain on a beautiful afternoon sail . Weather was perfect for sailing - sunny , good wind and perfect temperature , just make sure you bring some sunscreen if you don't have any hair :-) The captain was great , the boat was nice and the trip... Lovely sunset cruise. We would do it again in a heartbeat. If you like, bring appetizers. The Captain made the whole beautiful trip even better with his local knowledge.
