Great rest stop

It is an easy on and off the freeway so I stopped. You walk a short trail to the edge over looking the Columbia River. It is worth a stop to stretch and enjoy the view.

This is a Great hike and a tremendous view at the top. It's steep and unstable rocks, good shoes are important. The horses are BEAUTIFUL!!!

We saw this monument while driving on the I90 heading toward the petrified Forest state park. It was pretty cool. If we had more time we would have went up to it.

This was a fun stop on my way to Blue Lake. There are several horses and it is fun to view. This is only a short drive from the main road.

Great spot to stop and take in the view.

The Wild Horse Monument is a great spot to take a break. Good parking, paved paths to stretch your legs. There is the possibility of rattlesnakes (per the sign), I have not seen any though. I have made it a planned stop at least half a dozen times.

Worth the stop

Stopped on our way from Seattle to Spokane. We did not hike up to the top because it was hot but you could take great pictures anyway. Looks like there is graffiti on some of the horses. We noticed a lot of graffiti in Washington.

Beautiful

Beautiful metal sculpted horses up on the horizon of a hilltop. Saw from the turnout below. I'm glad I didn't go up and see it ruined by graffiti.

Incredible Views!

Randomly saw the horses on our way to the Gorge, so stopped to check it out. We weren't disappointed. The views are breathtaking and the sculptures gorgeous. We did climb up there, but WARNING, it is very steep and a dirt path so wear appropriate shoes

Steep unpaved hike to see the Wild Horse Monument. Can see and take pictures without taking the hike.

Wild Horse Monument 2018

This is a very nice little stop off I-90 East (I-90 West has an overlook of the Columbia River, but you can not stop at this monument when driving West). There are some gorgeous views of the Columbia River and gorge right at the parking lot. You can also look up and away from the river to see the Wild Horse Monument. You can be happy with that or you can do a bit of uphill "hiking" and get right among the horses. I would advise some shoes with a bit of traction and not flip flops (you will likely see some climbing in those too though). Another nice view at the top. Careful going back down. This is not paved or accessible to all. The parking lot views are though! If I recall correctly there are no restrooms or vending here. Just FYI. Great stop to stretch your legs and admire the scenery. Not open all year...
