hiked a volcano... checked off the bucket list. It's a stunningly beautiful mountain and the snow up at the top was great on a hot summer day. Wear sunscreen, the snow reflects a lot of sun.

The hike on Heliotrope trail starts shortly below Mt Baker viewing point, end at the Glacier viewpoint, about 2.5 miles one way, 1400 ft elevation gain through a number of switchbacks through beautiful forest. Easily done by someone of normal fitness in 2.5-3 hrs. The...More

Did this today with a young child in a backpack. We went early and we're glad we did. The hike is well maintained and easy to follow, is a sustained but reasonable grade, and the view at the end is remarkable. Would suggest getting an...More

This was an experience for conditioning---elevation! Beautiful waterfalls along the way through the old growth forest to the vista of the glacier. Photographers paradise!

Nice hike, with a somewaht challenging water crossing. Not as easy as some people might think - small dogs, small children , eldery people and not so fit people, beware

Lots of elevation gain, hard on the knees coming down. The views of Coleman Glacier are spectacular, BUT the FOUR rushing streams crossings were daunting.

The drive out Heliotrope Creek Road is itself a treat. It is mostly paved, but has gravel sections. The pavement can be missing huge chunks. Part is one lane, not the one lane where you can still slowly squeak two cars around each other, but...More
