We enjoyed the interpretive center and the hike along scenic vistas to the lighthouse. A bonus was two young male fawns grazing near the lighthouse who weren't afraid of us being nearby. A must see!

We happen to enjoy mountains, the ocean, hiking, and history. We got a five star experience on all counts at Cape Disappointment. The Interpretive Center is excellent, though parking was rough. (We got the last space on a Monday afternoon in July. Heaven help those...More

Amazing view of where the Columbia and Pacific meet. Long, relatively steep hike but well worth the challenge. Make sure you cross the river to get a view of the same river and ocean from a different perspective at Fort Stevens. While at Fort Stevens...More

A great hike to the lighthouses. The museum was very interesting about the Lewis and Clark story. Buy your park pass either for the day or the year at kiosk. The Old WW 1 and WW 2 military pill boxes were interesting.

The park itself is a great jumping off point for all Columbia river adventures. The hikes have a great mix of forest and ocean views. I have been many times and have seen wildlife such as deer every time

Yes, the north side lighthouse is a short walk (just a few minutes) on a paved gently sloping footpath. No steps as far as I recall. You can see part of the coastal view from the car park, but the views from the path to the... More
