An absolute must to visit for those interested in the history of Leavenworth. We left having a greater appreciation of the town and its community and the ingenuity and perseverance of man. Wonderful exhibit of pictures and text line the walls.

I enjoy museums of all forms and sizes, and I am particularly fond of small-sized exhibit halls for its uniqueness, creative display and interaction, and just right amount of info load. However, the upper valley museum disappointed me with its customer service, curation, display layout, and souvenir store. On June 30, I was greeted by no staff during its business... More

Here is a museum that you don't expect much from, and you get way more than you expect. The fire place, the stories and local photos, the exhibits, And especially the collection of very old accordions. (see below) The fireplace, built by a German stone mason, took three years to complete. The place is a small treasure. We loved it.

We stop by the Upper Museum because wanted to see the accordion exhibition, we found out we were in the wrong season, but enjoyed the tour and learn a lot about this wonderful place.

This museum is in a historic house overlooking the Wenatchee River--an absolutely lovely location. One could sit on the museum veranda and watch the river flow past--that would have been very relaxing but I didn't have time on this trip. The Museum exhibits are very well done. They cover the history (including Native American history) of the Leavenworth area, but... More

Provides a great historical view of how Leavenworth came to be. You are treated to a re-enactment from Charles Leavenworth himself.

We were a little surprised at how small the museum really is. It is a beautiful house, with an extraordinary view of the river. Apparently is used to be a bed and breakfast until 6 years ago. That would have been a lovely place to stay and it is too bad the it isn't still. There is really only one... More

This is a wonderful small museum with good exhibits of the history and the area around Leavenworth. The museum itself is in a wonderful old home with lots of interesting features. Ann, the museum director was wonderful!

A beautiful setting above the river for fairly extensive and well-curated collection of local memorabilia. And a very pleasant and knowledgeable lady shared quite a lot of information to satisfy our curiosity about this interesting town. Fun video of re-enactment of a speech by the founder of the town. We intended about a half-hour and spent three times that here!
