The tiny log cabin right in walking distance to anything in Estsound is not alwaysopen but check their tomes and pop in.I found it interesting and well presented. You may have to entertain the kids and history is a great persoective to instill. Went with fruends from my friends wedding. Everything was nice. Nice white roses on the fence!

Very interesting exhibits on the history of the island and its settlers, along with pioneer life in general. The exhibits are well curated, charming, and immersive. I thought it might be a quick trip in and out, but I was entertained for an hour. I've been researching the islands, and still learned quite a bit. The amount of work put... More

Warmly greeted by the museum's docent, we heard a quick overview that actual log cabins linked together make up the museum's story of people and artifacts on Orcas. The cost of entry? Free with the hope you'll give a donation at the end. I never realized there were so many ways to cut and notch logs in order to join... More

I just spent a wonderful day appraising items for local residents of Orcas Island as part of the museum,s on going education program and fund raising. This museum has a great collection of artifacts of early every day life on the island shown in a fun way so the kids will learn and enjoy our past and what it took... More

Linda and I enjoy poking around in small museums and had a great time in the Orcas Island Historical Museum in Eastsound. The caretakers were very friendly and happy to explain the artifacts used in everyday life on the island in days past. The museum houses an old pump organ which, if given permission one can play. The museum grounds... More

Interesting exhibits about the homesteading days of Orcas Island. The settlers had to make do with what they could grow or make.

This is a pleasant little museum documenting the early years of Orcas Island. It is definitely worth a visit some day when you are walking around Eastsound wondering what to do next.
