This was worth the stop. Very interesting; even the teenagers in our group found this exceptional. The people were very happy to point out interesting things, show us some of the tricks, and we generally had a good time.

Wow! Kids were building a boat in one week! And there's a navigation training available as well. The Maritime Center is a GREAT experience. It's a working center and a good place to volunteer!

Very enjoyable to see works in progress. We go every year to the Wooden Boat Festival. The town has so many boating related sites as well as the boats that are in the harbor

Learn about Thea Foss, the inspiration for Tugboat Annie, see wooden boats, maritime memorabilia, Mosquito Fleet information and more. Several interesting collections. For kids there is a marine life touch tank and harbor clean up education. A must-do when in Tacoma.

Really nice building with wooden boats, racing skulls and more. Fun to see what is new and a great location for having a coffee and watching the boats coming out of the marina also.

My favorite place to visit whenever we are in Port Townsend. Love to watch them working on all of the different boats. The Chandlery is a great place to shop as well. Always leave with something from there.

Nice staff, very friendly. Lots of col stuff to enjoy and purchase. Very local, but they do have items form outside of the Port Townsend area.

This is not an official museum or display but rather is the workshop of folks building and renovating small wooden boats. You are free to go in, look around and chat with anyone who happens to be working. There are photos and stories of the...More

A cool place to see wooden boat crafts being preserved. You can wander through on your own and see boats in the process of being build and/or repaired, and see craftspeople working on boats. I'm sure there are special tours and events you can participate...More
