We took the 3 hour tour and the captain talked to other boats to see where sightings may have been. Once he took us to the locations, we seen orcas and humpbacks when we traveled on September 2nd first trip out. The boat captain was very knowledgeable and was eager to give the customers that day the trip of a... More

I enjoyed the cruise to Protection Island - it was a unique opportunity to get up close to this refuge island- the highlight was spotting an elephant seal - he wasn't doing much of anything, but seeing this huge mammal was exciting. The bald eagles put on a good show - hovering, diving and hunting for fish?, ducks? - we... More

Had some positives, but hard to outweigh the strong stench of vomit pervading every surface of the boat once it got wet. We were on the CHILKAT and the cloth seats, once wet, reeked of barf; guessing previous trips in rough seas caused some sea sickness. Once people got out in the rain to see things port or aft, they... More

We got to see humpback whales, beautiful views, nice boat ride. The crew were pleasant and got along well with the tourists and each other. Don't miss out on the blueberry buckle. We got the last tour of the season, glad we didn't miss it.

Took my first whale-watching trip in September with Puget Sound Express. The boat, the Chilkat Express, is an impressive craft - stable, comfortable, and VERY fast. The crew were friendly and informative. We got to the whales, which were up in the San Juans, in just over an hour, and saw multiple orcas from several resident and transient pods near... More

Took the 4-hour trip on the Glacier Spirit on 10/8/2016. Can't say enough good things about the overall operation and crew members Chris and Trevor. Bad weather hit the area and the Friday trip was cancelled due to Gale force winds. The communication with the company was excellent--was checked on and kept up to date. Booked on the Saturday trip.... More

Was super excited about seeing Orcas out in the wild and not at Sea World. Very nice crew, informative and answered all our questions. By the end of our tour we saw three different kinds of whales, a lone humpback, 2 separate minke whales and a small pod of Orcas, about 5-6 of them. It took a long time to... More

Thanks AGAIN for the great whale watching trip out of Port Townsend, my hometown. This trip, I some CA friends with me, and you did not disappoint AGAIN. We headed well into Canada this time for Minke and Orca spotting. I have been on many, many trips, including a three day through the San Juan Islands, Christmas lights in Seattle,... More

We went on the Friday Harbor all day whale watching cruise. The crew was very friendly and informative. We enjoyed the information about the various islands we passed and the time in Friday Harbor was fun. The boat ride was one of the best we have had. Inside was warm and comfortable but plenty of opportunity to be outside to... More

The information provided before the trip was a little sketchy so I did not have high expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised. The boat was well designed for touring and seeing wildlife. This was a 3-day tour and the crew and naturalists worked hard to have guests see as much as possible. The crew / staff really are a family... More
