Sightseeing in Downtown Spokane

I really enjoyed walking around downtown Spokane during my recent visit to Washington. Streets were very clean and the shops that I went into were very inviting.

The attractions that Spokane is always talking about tend to not actually be in Spokane. Ex: Silverwood. Found to be a little annoying. They have lots of shops and restaurants to choose from however so do most cities. The other thing found to be a problem is the lack of VISIBLE road marking and POTHOLES! Manito park is beautiful. Went to The Onion bar and grill. Parking downtown isn't too bad. We got a paid space right around the building. I like the old-ness of downtown spokane, but the ice and snow maintance in the winter is horrible.

Was not sure what to expect since there seemed to be no one around on the streets..spent a Sunday afternoon walking around in and out of stores, a mall, and a great park behind the mall. Some restaurants were closed while others were open...all very accessible and parking was easy.

Restaurants and Riverfront park are always a treat when you visit downtown Spokane. Be careful crossing streets because of red light runners otherwise walking close to the river is beautiful and memorable..

Spokane's downtown is tied together by a skywalk system allowing you to park indoors at the parkade and see most of downtown without going outside. That's nice in the rain, but our best feature is outside. Riverfront Park is in the heart of downtown and surrounds the River. Walk through the park, dine at Anthony's with the view of the... More

We walked around downtown Spokane - quiet Saturday. Auntie's books is the best. Coffee at Atticus and a walk in the park. Downtown Spokane is a welcoming place

Spokane downtown is so much like European cities...hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, financial district, all within walking distance of each other and centered around the beautiful Spokane River and Spokane Falls. Downtown is becoming a conference center favorite because of the availability of services. Also home of HOOPFEST...over 25 yrs of the largest 3-on-3 basketball competition; BLOOMSDAY RACE, one of the... More

We walked to get excersise and they kept the area around the hotel clean. The night we were there the city came and hauled away tonnes of snow with half a dozen dump trucks so the roads were nice enough to cross. Huge improvement! Great place to do business.

We love this city, especially the historic downtown core with it's beautiful old buildings, many of which have been artfully renovated as venues for entertainment, dining and shopping. We have traveled there several times for cultural events at the INB Performing Arts Centre, but there are so many great entertainment opportunities it is hard to choose. With it's hot summers...
