We were lucky enough to visit while artist Richard Jackson was in town, as well as 2 other glass blowers were brought in to assist. Richard was consigned to do a chandelier for a hotel in Scotland. Amazing work & insight with artists.

We visited here while coming back from the Chihule glass garden visit. We found this place accidently. We had still some time left before we head back. So decided to give it try. This place didn't disappoint us. There is $15 per person admission fee, but it was worth it. I didn't like the fact that on top of that... More

I had recently been to the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit at Seattle Center and thought it was like that (loved it!), but didn't realize that this was featuring more local talent, which is amazing, but not Chihuly. While there are some of his pieces on display, the majority are not. We went during free third Thursday, si were able... More

Spectacular collection that contains pieces from a wide array of artists -- contemporary as well as from the early greats such as Lalique and Tiffany. The museum is well laid out and extremely easy to navigate. Lots of explanatory material as well as a glass blowing center that is live and open to guest artists, with comfortable seating in a... My cousins from New York visited in June 2016 and we toured the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington. They were very impressed and enthralled with the demonstrations. Michael

The displays are first class but my favorite activity is to sit in the hot shop and watch the glass artists at work. They explain what they are doing and have cameras and screens so you can see close up shots of the activity going on as well.

No matter if you've been here tons of times, there are always new things. From chihuly to working artists, you can see it all here. The gallery always has amazing work that you can get lost in viewing. Come on third thursday for free entrance! One of the best spots in tacoma for an adventure. (Plus its a great date!)... More
