The entire region was beautiful. Hwy 20 was closed, so, we took 2 over Steven's Pass. It was a very long drive from home, but the beauty was a distraction. We explored the towns of Twisp and Winthrop on foot. The shops are very cute. This area is great for snowshoeing, x country skiing, fat biking and backcountry downhill in... More

Summer is swimming and biking and hiking and winter is ice skating and cross country skiing. Our you can just hang and shop. If cloudy Puget Sound has you down go find some sun. The drive on highway 20 is one spectacular thing after another.

Enjoyed hiking trails at Sun Mt. Lodge. The weather is much drier than on the western side of the Cascades, so it is a nice getaway.

Nothing like hiking in the Methow Valley to feel the change of season! Beautiful trails - perfect way to welcome October.

Winthrop is about as touristy as is possible. There are a few shops with interesting items but if you go to Winthrop to shop, you will be disappointed

Winter or summer the Methow Valley is filled with beauty. Activities range from fly fishing to rock climbing, back packing to strolling quietly by a river. It boasts the biggest cross country trail system in the US in the winter with the best grooming as well!

We took Hwy 153 from Hwy 97 to get to Hwy 20 and so glad we did. This meandering road was breathtaking! All the way around the east side of the Cascade Loop the road is lined with orchards and vinyards along the river. Also, plenty of fruit stands where you can get some yummy fruits and vegatables to eat.

This area is truly beautiful and has a variety of year-round recreational activities. We had been in the Methow several years back for winter snow shoeing and cross-country skiing but this summer stayed in Mazama as a base for exploring the North Cascades - lots of opportunities for fun. Hiking, rafting, tubing and mountain biking.

This is a place for biking, hiking, swimming, and river sports. We stayed a week and enjoyed all the local hikes, swimming in lakes, and touring the western towns of Winthrop and Twisp. The experience was wonderful.
