The WV State Capitol building is so beautiful. There's something about that gold dome that just makes it special, like the state of WV itself. The grounds are open to the public and the architecture and sculptures are amazing. I read that the architect liked his design of the interior chamber of the WV Capitol so much he used it... More

We enjoyed touring the building with one of the employees. It's a beautiful building and everyone we met was friendly.

My family and I stopped here briefly and were so very impressed! The West Virginia Capitol Building is absolutely gorgeous. The majestic dome is truly stunning... especially in the bright sunlight! We did not have time to tour any of the buildings but hope to do so during a return visit.

It definitely is a beautiful building. I brought my 8 and 11 year old there to enrich there homeschool lesson of the branches of government. They had a BIG pharmaceutical student group there, so we unfortunately we're unable to do a tour, per the tour guide, bc of the noise. We tried to sit in on a session but after... More

The Gold dome is just the beginning of our beautiful Capitol, as you walk around you see the carvings on the building and the beautiful doors, inside are the beautiful marble accents and ìn the very center the Magnificent Crystal Chandaliers, Paintings of past governors are beautiful.

I have heard about the WVA capitol dome for years and finally had an opportunity to see it. WOW. It really is difficult to comprehend the effect of the Gold Dome until you see it from the outside and the inside. Quite frankly it is dramatic.

Two years ago on my first visit to the capital I was so proud that anyone could simply walk into the building. The Sargent at Arms for the senate invited my group to sit in the visitor's galley and watch a session (we couldn't - were there for a meeting). Once the tea party took over and passed a law... Unique capitol as it is set up as a complete center with multiple buildings and museum as well as a memorial. The entire place was well maintained and manicured. It provided a fantastic place for an afternoon stroll.
