We were traveling through WV and decided to stop here for a break from the car. We didn't have a lot of time to look before the 5pm closing time, so we did have to go through fairly quickly. It was worth the stop though! It was a fun and interesting way to learn some of the history of WV.... More

The correct name is "Culture Center" -- it's not how I would have labeled it but it is what it is. There are always great displays in the lobby, several series of lectures during the month, a really good state museum, and sometimes you stumble onto special events there, if you're lucky. The Culture Center is home to "Mountain Stage"... More

However I was there for about 3 hours savouring all of the fascinating displays that they have down stairs. The museum takes you on a... More

The lower level of the Culture Center is a masterpiece museum of West Virginia's long and curious history, going back to the eons ago when it was south of the equator. Prepare to be amazed, and don't schedule less than an hour. You could easily spend 3 hours and miss half of what is there to be revealed. And you... More

Lunch break I would walk over there at lunch break and see the memorial and go and I'll look at the beautiful handmade quilts that in my opinion are some among the most beautiful in the world.

The displays here are educational and entertaining at the same time-it is ideal for anyone new to our state-it is highly educational for teachers and their classes-don't forget to open the drawers which contain even more history

Wonderful museum that "tells the WV story". Wonderful gift shop with amazing gifts from WV artisans. Home of Mountain Stage. If you are traveling and are able to catch a M S show, usually on Sundays, you will not be dissappointed!! I can't say enough about it!

The Culture Center (now more commonly the Culture Center) is several things on one building. The state museum is in the lower level. The library commission is here with its own library from which you can borrow (if you live here). The archives is ready to help you with family history. There's a store featuring West Virginia products. And (this... More
