We attended the 5pm Polar Express train ride. The staff was very nice and great with the kids on board. The staff kept the kids entertained because there isn't a lot to see during the train ride. The North Pole is a lighted village at the end of the ride with Santa and elves waving. Santa boards the train, visits... More

Our family of 4 adults and 2 granddaughters rode the Polar Express. I bought tickets through my workplace. The ride was fun and entertaining. Our chefs Sugar and Snickerdoodle were very interactive with the kids. The story of the Polar Express is read, there is singing and dancing. Don't forget the hot chocolate! Everyone gets to keep the mug. Santa... More

Decent if you live nearby. NOT worth traveling over an hour to get there if you're coming from out of the area. We came from DC and the drive was windy and long. It was too much for small children. You also don't want to break down on any of those roads. You're in the middle of nowhere, and it... More

WV in general loves their holidays, at Halloween we have haunted hayrides/trails, but now as the crisp chilly autumn leaves are dusted with snow we turn our sights to Christmas. I have went to Lacy's Lights in Fayetteville every year since I was 12 but this year we wanted something different(even though we will still go to Lacy's Lights). My... More

Booked this as my birthday trip - completely understanding that this is designed for children- but we are kids at heart. The chairs are uncomfortable - and a little more thought could have been put into the "North Pole".

For a relaxing, somewhat gray/drizzly day, we decided to book the Tygart Flyer up to Cheat Falls. The buffet in the parlor car is sandwiches, fruit and chips. You have it on the way up and you get dessert on the way back. Non-alcoholic drinks are readily available. Tip: Ask for the river view for good scenery. At the falls,... More

Went with my wife and in-laws. Enjoyed the relaxing ride out to the Cheat Falls. Decent lunch, although we happened to be the last group served and I was fairly hungry by then. Nice scenery following Shavers Fork (I think) of the Cheat river. Cheat Falls is really beautiful. Walk down to the lower area, if you go, to really... More

I had long wanted to take this train excursion. When a business event happened within striking distance, I jumped at the chance. My solo ticket was the very last available - an aisle seat in Car T. After reading the reviews here at TripAdvisor, I learned that seating assignments are not always set in stone and I decided to take... More
