Very interesting & lovely historic building and tour. The guide was entertaining and gracious, making the history come alive. We loved the Easter room display, and all the portraits and artifacts. The grounds and interior may not be handicapped accessible as the lawns are somewhat uneven and there are stairs inside.

Our tour guide was very patient and well versed on the history of the North House Museum and the history of Lewisburg as well. I would highly recommend a visit and make a donation for your tour. The historical society owns the home/museum and do a very good job of preserving their history.

Although stopping by fairly late in the day, about 3:30pm, the guide was most accommodating and provided a informative and knowledgeable experience for us. This was a donation only activity. My wife had been there there many years ago whilst in school in the area but revisited now with a much keener sense of understanding. The majority of the artifacts... More

The Greenbrier Historical Society and North House Museum is an attractive property built in 1820 overlooking Academy Park and downtown Lewisburg. Our Saturday morning tour was very good and the young man giving the tour was very informative. We found the historic postal carriages on the glass enclosed porch very interesting, learning about the formation of the US Postal System.Nice small gift shop.

We were in Lewisburg to see the Lost Caverns. It was a beautiful day and Lewisburg is a pretty little town so we decided to spend the afternoon there. We came across this museum, so we decided to check it out. We had a nice tour with a pleasant, knowledgeable guide. After the tour was completed we visited the gift... More

You are absolutely right. Although we try to keep a variety of books available for purchase, this particular book has seemingly fallen through the cracks and was not on our inventory. I don't know how or why it was there, but I assure you it has since been removed. I do apologize for having such a distasteful book on our... More

Truthfully, the only reason we wanted to visit this house is because there was a geocache in the yard. After finding the geocache we decided to visit the house. It was one of the highlights of our trip. The tour guide was excellent and really knew his stuff. He made everything from the tilt of the floor to the etching... More

I enjoyed triple the time I expected to spend here. The museum is interesting and has many artifacts and stories but the best part is the guided tour.

We had a wonderful l little museum. We had a very sweet and knowledgeable young lady as our guide! Learned about the battle of Lewisburg-hadn't heard of this battle before. A nice quick stop.

My mother and I went on the free tour of the house. Our tour guide Caleb was an excellent tour guide. He knew a lot about the house and also about the Greenbrier region. He also had very interesting historical stories. Highly recommend this tour for any Lewisburg trip.

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and delightful. The house was well maintained. It has an excellent collection of rifles, wagons, and handmade linens. This would be a perfect event for a rainy day.
