Largest of all the state parks in West Virginia, Watoga has over 10,000 acres of sprawling woodland filled with a multitude of recreational opportunities. Camping at Watoga is unsurpassed anywhere. The 11-acre lake, which was previously Lake Killibuck, is used for paddle-boating, row-boating and fishing. Cast your line to fetch a trout, bass, bluegill or even catfish! Don’t worry, if you fail to catch dinner at the lake - there is a restaurant on the property which serves tasty meals. There are over 15 miles of road and 40 miles of hiking paths for enjoying the quiet beauty of the park.

We planned a trip up to the Greenbrier WV area and booked cabin #23 at Watoga State Park for a couple of days. Although it is the middle of summer, it got downright cold, dipping down to the upper 40's. Thankfully, we had a stocked...More

We have gone here nearly every year for as long as I can remember, and it has helped instill in me a love for West Virginia's State Parks and Forests. Droop Mountain Battlefield, Beartown, Cass Scenic Railroad, Cranberry Glades, Falls of Hills Creek, Green Bank...More

Beautiful! Real hike( not manmade)- well marked trail but path not cleared making it adventurous and a bit challenging in parts when the elevation went up considerably and even more going downhill. Spotted 3 bears mid trail (seemed like the highest point) the two smaller...More

Park is great for families or anyone. Very large pool for the summer. Very clean and well-maintained park. Paddle boats to rent for the lake.

I have stayed at this park in both the cabins and campground. I would recommend both. A wonderfully maintained CCC park.

This is one of the older parks in WV and a lot of work was done by the CCC. It is evident from looking around and amazing what was done in the past. There are lots of outdoors type stuff to do. Remember though there...More

We went here on our anniversary getaway. One thing to remember is the closest place to eat or drink is 30 min away, so bring your own coffee. Beautiful place and well worth the visit. Peaceful. We saw a bear on our walk. Very cool....More

If I had read all the Trip Advisor reviews, I would have know there was no longer a restaurant at the park. The online digital brochure shows that there is one. Also, be sure to ask what days the pool is open during your stay....More
