Went to the opening day of the summer performance season at the Circus World Museum, which runs through August 27. The big attraction is the show under the big top, which lasts about an hour and 15 minutes. It has clowns, ponies, horses, trained dogs, elephants, an aerialist performance, unicyclists, juggler, etc. There are two shows a day; 11 a.m.... More

Spent several hours here even though it was off season and a number of exhibits were not open. It is a fantastic stroll down memory lane. The old circus posters and movies were wonderful at bringing back memories of days gone by. A reminder of "The Greatest Show on Earth."

Come one! Come all! The greatest show on Earth for those who remember the traveling circus performances or those who never had the opportunity. Spectacular performers very up close and personal from animal acts to magic; from the high trapeze to clowning around; from historic circus wagons to the personalities. Bring a picnic lunch or by your refreshments from local... More

The wife and I had not been at CWM in over 10 years. What an experience. The museum is fantastic - allow at least 1 hours. We spent almost 2 hours touring and took lots of photos of the scaled display of circus events. Every where you look was something good. Lots of details. We love the display of circus... More

My husband and I visited here on a Wednesday in October. It was nice because it wasn't very crowded (kids were in school- so no families there) and so we were able to take our time at the exhibits. The circus wagons were beautiful and nice to see them being restored. Very interesting history and we didn't realize Wisconsin had... More

Our usual trip got rained out due to many roads being closed that we usually would go on. So we decided to be tourists and check out Circus World. Even though it was off season they still had a number of buildings open and it was a nice relaxed way to kill a few hours.

It was October and all the entertainment was closed for the year, but it was still very interesting. Managed to spend 3 hours going through all the buildings that were open. So thankful they have saved, preserved and restored so much memorabilia. The wagons were magnificent. Had been to the mansion in Sarasota years sgo, but the museum had been... More

This was so much more than we thought it would be. There are many buildings set along side the Baraboo River. Charming. Fascinating history and outstanding collections. A must see. We took more than 2 1/2 hours and at this time of the year not all of the buildings were open. Still more than worth the price of admission which... More

If you are afraid of clowns this is not a museum for you. We have been to the Ringling Brothers Museum in Sarasota Florida. This museum is more about the circus world than about PT Barnum Bailies Circus. It follows the history of the Circus in the United States. Emphasis is on Ringling Brother/Barnum Bailey Circus, but includes a lot... More
