Devil's Lake is a beautiful State Park, with 2 bluffs (East and West) overlooking a lake. Great for swimming, picnics, paddle sports, and hiking with a view. Just a word to the wise - the Balanced Rock & Pothole trails are extremely steep rock "staircases",...More

We hiked the East Bluff and woods loop trail, with a side to Devils Doorway. This is an excellent trail with outstanding views. The trail is moderate, climbing about 500 ft elevation change, overlooking Devil's Lake. Suggest using an app such as AllTrails regarding trails...More

I love this park and have been visiting for almost 30 years. Each season has its own beauty but my favorite is fall. Whether you are hiking, swimming, fishing or kayaking, you can't go wrong here. Each shore has a beach and snack/souvenier/supply shop.

We rode through Devil's Lake on our motorcycle and what an AWESOME view. It made for some beautiful pictures. However the green dumpsters in the South Shore need be moved or placed in a wooden closer so that they do not show up as an...More

We took east bluff trail. Well worth hike, steps on rocks and change in elevation. Note: other end of trail is either "balanced rock trail" a very steep decent and then walk around other side of lake in sun or take "east bluff woods trail."...More

We spent 4 days camping at Devil's Lake State Park. The park is a great place to stay and hike. The scenery is beautiful. There are several trails to hike. We were a little worried driving up highway 39 that it would be too crowded...More

Have visited Devil's Lake several times, it's a great place to enjoy on a sunny day for the views. Easy hikes on either side of the lake, and high enough ridges to feel like you earned that beer after you're done.

Found the signs not helpful for letting you know how difficult the trails were. If you like an easy hike this place is not for you.

Drive out to Devil's Lake for a picnic. Beautiful place. Many places for a lakeside picnic. Nice hiking trails. We walked a lap around the lake. Combination of off-road, dirt road, paved, and old railway trails. Facilities seemed pretty good for a lake park. Highly...More

Devils Lake has got to be one of the most popular places to visit in Wisconsin. Sure, some areas of the park require a state sticker for access, but much of the property is free for the public to visit. Oh, there is so much...More

There is an entrance fee for the park, but there is no additional fee for bringing your own kayak.

Fantastic place to take young boys. If worried about ledges and steep stairs just stay low where trails are smooth and low. Water is best on south Shore for swimming. You will safe and have fun!

Yes, lots of picnic space, many people had their own charcoal grills (in designated areas). They even have a concrete container to recycle ashes. Have fun, it's a very beautiful place.
