This is a REALLY neat little hike to enjoy. I climbed the East Bluff Trail on a beautiful early May day from the parking lot after the railroad tracks near the park headquarters. En route, I especially wanted to see Balanced Rock and Devil's Window....More

This trail was the most difficult one I've ever been on. If the two formations, Devil's doorway is definitely cooler. I am happy to say I was able to do this trail once, but not sure I could ever get my girlfriend to go back...More

Our family loves this (mostly vertical) hike. You will get winded. Stop and take in the view, as it's amazing! I have seen eagles fly overhead while on this trail. The actual "balanced rock" is NOT located at the top of this trail; you can...More

This trail goes up for what seemed like forever. You hike up a rock "staircase" on the side of the cliff to unbelievable views. The balanced rock is worth the climb. I took my dog and he did quite well

I look forward to this hike every time I go to Devil's Lake. I have a tiny issue with heights so I always hike up the trail rather than coming down it. If you don't like heights, stay away from this one. I have family...More

Like others have said, this trail is mostly steep, narrow rock steps. Definitely challenging, but manageable even for beginner hikers, and the views and the scenery are amazing. Some of the rocks are a bit slippery so just be careful going both up and down....More

Take lots of water and a snack. The "trail" is rocks that are very steep. Take your time and stop along the way to enjoy the views. Be careful you don't miss Balanced Rock, because it's easy to do. I had to turn around and...More

This trail allows you to see balanced rock and the much more interesting formation "the devil's doorway". Also you will get to see a great view of Devils Lake. This trail is probably the MOST DIFFICULT trail at Devil's Lake. There is "lots of up'....More

Very difficult trail. Lots of climbing. It is like climbing stairs. There are some very nice views along the way. Make sure you wear good shoes.
