From the dining area or "Mess Hall" to the sleeping area or "Bunk House", this place is so very realistic. It makes you feel like you are actually there way back in time. It showed how difficult and hard life was in those logging camps from long ago. This is a must see attraction when in the Eau Claire area.... More

There is a lot of interesting history about logging, especially in the (local) Chippewa Valley. Learn how the lumber jacks lived, what they ate, how they transported logs, etc. Lots of schools come here on school trips! :-)

Kids really enjoyed going. It was educational and fun. They are putting in some new exhibits so we are excited to go back and see what has changed. They loved the interpreters that were there in character telling stories too!

What a wonderful interesting and educational museum. The buildings each have a recorded message that has one of the real workers tell about their lives in the logging camp. There are also a lot of interesting things to look at in each building.

We enjoyed walking through the various buildings with so much history. Very well laid out. Some hands on exhibits for children. Friendly staff.

My husband and I were in Eau Claire for a random weekend and decided to stop at this museum on a whim. We thought it was fun, but definitely not worth the money. We were in and out in under an hour, but I think we paid nearly $20 for the two of us. This would not be an inexpensive... More

We spent about an hour at the museum. We watched the short video and then explored the buildings. The recorded information available in each building was interesting, although at times a bit long for my pre-teen's attention span. We enjoyed the bunkhouse the most.
