Took a trip to explore north door county and stopped at Newport. There is plenty to do here. You can hike miles to explore or take a short walk and enjoy the beach. There are backpacking camp sites to hike into. The beach was very...More

Such a beautiful state park, we absolutely love it. Recently was designated Wisconsin’s First International Dark Sky Park so we stopped for a night hike through the woods and had a wonderful adventure. The sky is truly gorgeous at night. You must check it out!

Stopped to see beach - beautiful historic area. Very nice bay and beach with spring fed small creeks running into it.

More authentic than Peninsula Park and very accessible trails. Campground possibilities. Beware of mosquitoes during summer time (repellant required!).

This park is very rustic and we enjoy hiking the north trails. North along the lake Michigan shore and then through forest to the east side of Europe Lake.

Newport State Park is much less crowded than Peninsula State Park. Further, there is the attraction of access to the Lake Michigan shore. If you have limited mobility, park in the last parking lot where the shore can be reached in a few hundred feet....More
