The big boy

My dad was a huge fan of trains! I never understood until I saw them here! They are magnificent beasts!

We came up to see my daughter and her boyfriend in college and needed something to do between lunch and hotel check in. Found this gem on groupon. Was afraid it was going to be too "little kidsy", but it wasn't. We were able to go through many trains. It was a great experience.

We're not train buffs but enjoy history attractions. I had purchased discount tickets for seniors for a special viewing of the museum. Unfortunately, it was a cold, rainy day but we wanted to see what they had there. They have some hands on displays for kids that they would enjoy. We wandered through the displays and reached the train displays.... More

My husband has a membership and I go along with him. At first it was just to go. But now I really learn something new. Every time I go I notice things I missed previously. There is a tower outside to climb in nice weather to see all of Green Bay!

I wonder how many Cheeseheads who idolize the Green Bay Packers and make pilgrimages to the cathedral known as Lambeau Field on Sundays know that one of the oldest and largest railroad museums in the United States is located in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, just outside Green Bay. Established in 1956, the National Railroad Museum is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the... More

Yes train fans, Mr. Cooper would think he had died and gone to heaven after seeing this place. There are so many nice exhibits. If you are in Green Bay, you owe it to yourself to swing in and check it out.

Nice 1.5 - 2.5 hour activity that offers a look into railroading history. Sign up early if you want a ride on the local locomotive.

Museum was fantastic, staff is friendly and very helpful. We went during the winter months and didn't venture to the outside displays. The museum inside is quite large and very informative. Great with young kids!

I visited here with a friend about fifteen years ago and decided to go again on a $5.00 Groupon coupon. I am VERY glad I did!!! They have the largest steam powered train that has EVER existed in North America called the Big Boy. The last time I visited here it was outside in one of their other buildings, but... More

If you are a train fan, you will love this museum. If you are not a train fan, you will appreciate it any way. Tremendous history, easy location, parking, etc. Doesn't take much work to have a great day at this museum. I think one of the best museum values I have experienced.
