When the Seth Peterson unexpectedly became available for an overnight stay, I had only one thought: Road trip! A friend and I loaded up the car and headed north. We quickly got acclimated to the cottage -- it's just 880 square feet -- and settled in for a relaxing evening. We cooked steaks on the grill, caramelized onion and mushroom... More

Being able to stay in a cabin that was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The opportunity doesn't come around.....ever. This cabin has all the earmarks of his genius at its best. Every nook and cranny is built with so many design details. It is located in the beautiful woods of wisconsin and everything was picture perfect. Go visit if you... More

This is a nice little cottage in the woods. It is one of Frank Lloyd Wright's final designs. It's also available to rent by the public and I've heard it's quite popular with a long waiting list. The location is perfect for solitude. The main building materials are local sandstone with an open floor plan and large windows. My only... More

If you get a chance, reserve a stay at this Frank Lloyd Wright Cottage. Lovingly taken care of by the Seth Peterson Cottage Conservancy. The reservations are through Sandy County Rentals. Beautiful setting. Canoe available. We had perfect weather. If no stay in your future, visit the 2nd Sunday of each Month for a tour. $4.00, very informative. Imagine the... More

Perhaps this should be under lodging. The gate is closed when it is occupied and you can't see anything from the road. There is a tour once a month on a Sunday. We were there on Tuesday. The phone number listed is disconnected. Visit the website for more info and pictures.

My wife and I stayed here over a weekend for our 10th Anniversary. She set it up as a anniversary present to me, as I grew up near FLW's home in Spring Green and am a fan of his work. We stayed in January of 2016 when Mirror Lake was frozen over and there was plenty of snow on the... More

Stayed at Seth Peterson's cottage designed by Frank Lloyd Wright the night after a massive snowstorm. Our X-skis sped with delight down the driveway and onto the park's trails. Stunning beauty in architecture. In-floor heating as well as a gorgeous fireplace kept us toasty warm. Whole experience is 5-stars.

If you like solitude in the woods, along with wonderful architecture and feeling part of history, the Seth Peterson Cottage is just perfect. Getting a chance to sleep in a classic FLK home was wonderful. It is tiny, so I wouldn't suggest it for more than two people. My husband and I spend a long weekend for our 15th wedding... More

You have to book this cottage well in advance if you want a weekend in the warmer months. We booked our stay in July of 2013. We stayed in September of 2014. Usually they want you to book 2 nights minimum, but there was only one night available so they let us book the one night. We got lucky and... More

I have toured a large number of FLW homes and buildings over the years, But Nothing has matched this! My girlfriend knowing my love of his work, booked a stay at the Seth Peterson Cottage and I was elated! The cottage is an incredibly beautiful place and the grounds overlooking Mirror Lake are picturesque. Even if you don't get the... More
