Attended the Dogtoberfest in the Capital Brewery Bier Garten yesterday. Beautiful sunny day; hundreds of friendly dogs; and lots of tasty beer! What more could you want?! The draft beer selections are good at $5 a pint; cheaper cans and bottles available. Their brewery tour...More

A group of friends and I have been making a visit once or twice a year during the summer to hear some good music and enjoy some cold microbrew drafts in the nice outdoor bier garden. Plenty of seating, friendly service, and they typically have...More

Stopped in on a Friday night for the tour and enjoyed the Bier Garten afterwards. As a small brewery, I understand there's only going to be so much to see on the tour. The problem was our tour guide talked way to fast so it...More

I've been here a few times over the years & always enjoyed my visit. I hey don't serve food but, you are allowed to order in. I've also met some pretty decent people here.

There was a private event the night I stopped by, but it was no big deal because there was live music outside and the weather was beautiful. Had some pizza by the slice and enjoyed some local craft beer!

The tour wasn't very good. The guide spoke too fast and I didn't really learn much about the brewery, which I was hoping for. The tasting was good, and of course the beer was good.

We visited Capital Brewery on a Saturday around lunch time. Our tour started on time, and the tour guide was polite. Since it was the weekend, we did not get to see the operation in action, but we did get to see the storage and...More

If you are in Madison for the weekend, be sure to schedule a tour and tasting at Capital Brewery. Generous tasting and souvenir pint glass included with the $7 tour price, as well as great insight into the craft brewing industry.

I do recall seeing people with dogs on a recent visit but I would send an email to their contact to verify they have not changed their policy.
