I love this little store, and regularly stop at it when I'm struggling for unique gifts. It's a small store a bit off the beaten path of downtown Milwaukee, but I always leave with something. They have a unique collection of toys and gifts from newborns to teens. I also love browsing the homegoods section, books, cards, and small selection... More

This quaint, fascinating little (and I mean little) store is in an odd urban-pioneer type of neighborhood. Little in size, huge in variety, it's an old-time general store with modern flair. You'll find things you've forgotten from your childhood as well as new gizmos you all of a sudden can't live without. I must say it didn't find the staff... More

Simple, non-commercial children's toys, books, and cards along side fabric, yarn and sewing notions. A good place for a Milwaukee gift. Don't be put off by this small store's location - it's worth the detour.

Fishbergers actually may be a pleasant, recurring dream. I dream that a lovely, family-owned variety store opened on a gritty street in my neighborhood-and made it past the first year! Fishbergers is not only a throwback to the old days of the "five & dime" stores of my youth ( without the penny candy), but it feels just right.

This is our go-to store for that little special gift to make someone smile, relax and enjoy themselves. It is true that the items themselves are simply what they are, many we have or have seen before. But the secret is in the selection and display which gives the store its personality and makes a pleasure to shop instead of... More

Fischberger's is a nice little store, but nothing to go out of the way for. I guess I expected more from the store after seeing some post and its ranking on trip advisor.

The location is a bit odd and I wouldn't have found it were it not for the roller derby tickets I had to pick up there. When I walked in, I was surprised to find such a fun variety of things. This is a great store to pick up little presents for the nephews. Reminds me of the kind of... More

Heard of this place through an obscure ad in a theater's program. Very small store but packed full of things we all love and have forgotten about! Tin robots and wind up toys and tonettes and mouth harps... Just a CRAZY variety of oddball things. Lots of fun. Easily killed an hour in this place even though it is smaller... More

Make the trek off the beaten path to Fischberger's Variety store and you will be richly rewarded with a quirky, delightful shopping experience. Fischberger's carries toys for kids, but also witty housewares, books, great fabric for sewing projects, felting materials, fun cards interesting decorative paper and art supplies. It carries a good assortment of project-galvanizing books too. The owners are... More
