We love this Milwaukee Art Museum so much we travel from SE Iowa twice a year to visit and maintain a membership. It has to be seen to be believed.

We visited this museum on a Monday after labor Day, and found that it was closed. but still, it is really beautiful from the outside. We had a beautiful day, and walked all the way around the museum and took pics. The walkways are great,...More

I typically skip art museums when I visit a new city, but am so glad I went to this one! They had a temporary exhibit by Rashid Johnson that was fascinating. My daughter and I then took a tour with one of the docents. To...More

The Museum Building is art unto itself! The building resembles a ship with wings and the wings open and close each day! The exhibits are interesting and unique.

I took my 6 and 4 yr old and they were in awe of the works of art. Then they weren't and lucky for us there was an Art project for them to do and a long walk out to enjoy more on the way.

Considering Milwaukee is a small city off the beaten path, this is a great museum. Beyond the incredible calatrava (free entry) the rest of the museum has a wonderful collection of art and always has incredible temporary exhibits

Two things: One is to enjoy the nice building of Calatrava (València artist), and the ailes moving at midday. Also the spacious rooms with the art works... specially for me from Picasso and Miró
