Country setting in the city

This is a wonderful spot to step out of the busy city and take a quiet stroll to enjoy nature. Aldo Leopold is a true treasure.

We toured the facility and listened to the videos regarding the solar system and especially the earth. Walked around the marsh and observed the enjoyed the nature trails.

Best part of my Trip! Came for the 45th Annual NAAEE Conference, but the Center was the best part. Glad I paid the extra fee. The Shack is everything I had thought it would be. The view of the Wisconsin River was Awesome. Best time of the year. The leaves were perfect.

We came here for several years with our grandchildren for their educational program for pre-schoolers. The classes were so much fun, and wonderfully educational at the same time. The center is great, lots of wonderful exhibits as other reviewers have noted. The grounds are beautiful, but for me the best part of the center are the staff.

This is a nice Nature Center near Madison. Only 20 acres but has well maintained trails and abundant wildlife.

ALNC, as they call themselves, has excellent nature programs for kids. Kids take field trips there during the school year and they run excellent run outside with the wind in your hair camps that teach ecology and nature facts.

I came here as part of a Master Naturalist program, but other visitors included Girl Scouts and families. Lots of interactive and fun exhibits plus a beautiful facility. We experienced an amazing hi-tech program, showing a very large lit globe, that demonstrated projected worldwide results of climate change. Our group was impressed. Unfortunately we didn't have time to walk the... More

I've lived in Madison for several years and have not gone to this center. It's awesome! I think I enjoyed it more than my kids. Really easy access for kids and usually not busy. Trails were sloppy the day we went so wear rubber boots!

The Aldo has long been a wonderful place for families to visit and enjoy the outdoors. Now they have added some amazing indoor attractions also, including a 360-degree immersion theater where you can (for example) experience what it would be like to zoom out into the universe. And don't miss Science on a Sphere, a huge rotating globe with a... More
