Quick drive from Madison, easy parking/access, nice range for runs from beginner to advanced. Lots of jumps and terrain park features. Beautiful area and reasonable rates.

Took the kids here as we recently moved here and have never skied. The staff, from walking in to renting to taking lessons and helping with equipment, were super friendly and helpful. The price is less than other places within a couple of hours, and the hills are fun and varied. Great experience-we will be back!

The trienn park here is one of the best. Even the regular hills are some of the best. The staff at Tyrol are very friendly.

Find old world charm at Tyrol Basin; a great place for learning to ski and snowboard. I also have attended other events at the lodge here. This place is a bustle of activity in winter and holds many memories for me of my childhood as well.

Took our 2 young boys who are beginner skiers to Tyrol Basin. Staff was very friendly and overall it was family friendly. The beginner hill has a magic carpet that wasn't running yet for the season, but will be awesome further into the season. We enjoyed our experience and I highly recommend.

this is the best place to ski in the madison area. It's also pretty cheap, especially if you go on Tuesdays when it's $12 lift and ski rentals. The bar/restaurant on site is good too.

I'll be upfront and honest. I am terrible and inexperienced at skiing. I'm not qualified to rate the quality of the snow and slopes. But there appears to be a spot for all levels of talent. The specials and season passes are very affordable. I like this place.

To sum up my visit to Tyrol Basin, for being in the midwest, the skiing is great, the runs are awesome, lift lines were short to nonexistent, & the park setup is totally rad (featuring a half pipe). Everything out on the mountain was great, but it is what was inside was a total disappointment. The lodge was a dump... More

Being myself a ski beginner, I went to Tyrol Basin since it is minutes drive from where I was staying. But it was night. I could not find a lighted green trail, and in the end, it was not a great experience. However, lifts are OK, no lines, equipment rental was OK too; will give it a try next season.... More

My husband and I chose Tyrol for our first time skiing. We got a complimentary lesson and our instructor was great. Really took his time to help each of us. We were slow and fell a few times and no one was pushy or rude. We felt very comfortable and had a great time!!
